3 car garage

Lasley Brahaney Architecture + Construction

Our Princeton design build team designed and rebuilt this three car garage to suit the traditional style of the home. A living space was also include above the garage.

MainStreet Design Build

On April 22, 2013, MainStreet Design Build began a 6-month construction project that ended November 1, 2013 with a beautiful 655 square foot addition off the rear of this client's home. The addition included this gorgeous custom kitchen, a large mudroom with a locker for everyone in the house, a brand new laundry room and 3rd car garage. As part of the renovation, a 2nd floor closet was also converted into a full bathroom, attached to a child’s bedroom; the formal living room and dining room were opened up to one another with custom columns that coordinated with existing columns in the family room and kitchen; and the front entry stairwell received a complete re-design.KateBenjamin Photography

Birmingham, MI Mud/Laundry Room Addition

MainStreet Design Build

The unique design challenge in this early 20th century Georgian Colonial was the complete disconnect of the kitchen to the rest of the home. In order to enter the kitchen, you were required to walk through a formal space. The homeowners wanted to connect the kitchen and garage through an informal area, which resulted in building an addition off the rear of the garage. This new space integrated a laundry room, mudroom and informal entry into the re-designed kitchen. Additionally, 25” was taken out of the oversized formal dining room and added to the kitchen. This gave the extra room necessary to make significant changes to the layout and traffic pattern in the kitchen. Beth Singer Photography

Contemporary Ann Arbor Home

Angelini and Associates Architects

The design of the newly remodeled and enlarged home builds on the underlying good bones of the original house. The vertical tower became the main pivot point and focal point to the home with the addition of a spiral stair to a new third floor room at the top of the stairs. The tower is clad in stone veneer and includes new windows that bring southwestern light into the center of the home. The stone veneer continues along the base of the building with new horizontal cedar siding above. The horizontal planes and spaces of the home pinwheel from the central vertical stair tower, crowned in a unique room at the top. The new work, in addition to the tower, includes all exterior finishes, and many new windows, a more welcoming entry with a covered porch and new landscaping steps, a remodeled and enlarged home office with stone veneered interior walls, a remodeled powder room, a kitchen addition and remodeling of rich and varied materials, and a new family room space with a spacious deck located above the garage for entertaining. Modern is Modern Again in Portola Valley

Mark Brand Architecture

For this remodel in Portola Valley, California we were hired to rejuvenate a circa 1980 modernist house clad in deteriorating vertical wood siding. The house included a greenhouse style sunroom which got so unbearably hot as to be unusable. We opened up the floor plan and completely demolished the sunroom, replacing it with a new dining room open to the remodeled living room and kitchen. We added a new office and deck above the new dining room and replaced all of the exterior windows, mostly with oversized sliding aluminum doors by Fleetwood to open the house up to the wooded hillside setting. Stainless steel railings protect the inhabitants where the sliding doors open more than 50 feet above the ground below. We replaced the wood siding with stucco in varying tones of gray, white and black, creating new exterior lines, massing and proportions. We also created a new master suite upstairs and remodeled the existing powder room. Architecture by Mark Brand Architecture. Poppleton Park, Birmingham, MI Exterior Makeover

MainStreet Design Build

This early 20th century Poppleton Park home was originally 2548 sq ft. with a small kitchen, nook, powder room and dining room on the first floor. The second floor included a single full bath and 3 bedrooms. The client expressed a need for about 1500 additional square feet added to the basem*nt, first floor and second floor. In order to create a fluid addition that seamlessly attached to this home, we tore down the original one car garage, nook and powder room. The addition was added off the northern portion of the home, which allowed for a side entry garage. Plus, a small addition on the Eastern portion of the home enlarged the kitchen, nook and added an exterior covered porch. Special features of the interior first floor include a beautiful new custom kitchen with island seating, stone countertops, commercial appliances, large nook/gathering with French doors to the covered porch, mud and powder room off of the new four car garage. Most of the 2nd floor was allocated to the master suite. This beautiful new area has views of the park and includes a luxurious master bath with free standing tub and walk-in shower, along with a 2nd floor custom laundry room!Attention to detail on the exterior was essential to keeping the charm and character of the home. The brick façade from the front view was mimicked along the garage elevation. A small copper cap above the garage doors and 6” half-round copper gutters finish the look.KateBenjamin Photography

place architecture:design

Our clients wanted to create a room that would bring them closer to the outdoors; a room filled with natural lighting; and a venue to spotlight a modern fireplace.Early in the design process, our clients wanted to replace their existing, outdated, and rundown screen porch, but instead decided to build an all-season sun room. The space was intended as a quiet place to read, relax, and enjoy the view. The sunroom addition extends from the existing house and is nestled into its heavily wooded surroundings. The roof of the new structure reaches toward the sky, enabling additional light and views. The floor-to-ceiling magnum double-hung windows with transoms, occupy the rear and side-walls. The original brick, on the fourth wall remains exposed; and provides a perfect complement to the French doors that open to the dining room and create an optimum configuration for cross-ventilation.To continue the design philosophy for this addition place seamlessly merged natural finishes from the interior to the exterior. The Brazilian black slate, on the sunroom floor, extends to the outdoor terrace; and the stained tongue and groove, installed on the ceiling, continues through to the exterior soffit. The room's main attraction is the suspended metal fireplace; an authentic wood-burning heat source. Its shape is a modern orb with a commanding presence. Positioned at the center of the room, toward the rear, the orb adds to the majestic interior-exterior experience. This is the client's third project with place architecture: design. Each endeavor has been a wonderful collaboration to successfully bring this 1960s ranch-house into twenty-first century living.

ASID Showcase House Laundry

Crystal Kitchen + Bath

Original to the home was a beautiful stained glass window. The homeowner’s wanted to reuse it and since the laundry room had no exterior window, it was perfect. Natural light from the skylight above the back stairway filters through it and illuminates the laundry room. What was an otherwise mundane space now showcases a beautiful art piece. The room also features one of Cambria’s newest counter top colors, Parys. The rich blue and gray tones are seen again in the blue wall paint and the stainless steel sink and faucet finish. Twin Cities Closet Company provided for this small space making the most of every square inch.

Beach House Bunk Room

Bayberry Cottage

In this formerly unfinished room above a garage, we were tasked with creating the ultimate kids’ space that could easily be used for adult guests as well. Our space was limited, but our client’s imagination wasn’t! Bold, fun, summertime colors, layers of pattern, and a strong emphasis on architectural details make for great vignettes at every turn. With many collaborations and revisions, we created a space that sleeps 8, offers a game/project table, a cozy reading space, and a full bathroom. The game table and banquette, bathroom vanity, locker wall, and unique bunks were custom designed by Bayberry Cottage and all allow for tons of clever storage spaces. This is a space created for loved ones and a lifetime of memories of a fabulous lakefront vacation home!

Melshire New Garage and Gameroom

Alair Homes Plano

These homeowners really wanted a full garage space where they could house their cars. Their one car garage was overflowing as a storage space and they felt this space could be better used by their growing children as a game room. We converted the garage space into a game room that opens both to the patio and to the driveway. We built a brand new garage with plenty of room for their 2 cars and storage for all their sporting gear! The homeowners chose to install a large timber bar on the wall outside that is perfect for entertaining! The design and exterior has these homeowners feeling like the new garage had been a part of their 1958 home all along! Design by Hatfield Builders & Remodelers | Photography by Versatile Imaging

In this combination living room/ family room, form vs function is at it's best.. Formal enough to host a co*cktail party, and comfortable enough to host a football game. The wrap around sectional accommodates 5-6 people and the oversized ottoman has room enough for everyone to put their feet up! The high back, stylized wing chair offers comfort and a lamp for reading. Decorative accessories are placed in the custom built bookcases freeing table top space for drinks, books, etc. Magazines and current reading are neatly placed in the rattan tray for easy access.
